How can I make my company Dormant?

A dormant company is one that is not engaged in any commercial activity - buying, selling.

To qualify as dormant a company must therefore not make any transactions and to file dormant accounts, it must not have any transactions for the entire accounting period.

So the first step in making a company dormant is to stop transacting and one of the simplest ways to do this is to close all company bank accounts.

Dormant Accounts inform Companies House that a company is dormant and HMRC can be informed in writing to the Company’s Corporation Tax Office.
