Is our Christmas Party tax deductible?

A Christmas Party is entertaining. Entertaining staff who are on PAYE is tax deductible for business tax but if you invite freelancers as well that part is not.

For staff members we also need to think about P11d which is where benefits to employees get taxed. Although HMRC sees the Christmas Party as a benefit an allowance up to £150 is not taxed under P11d.
