Reaffirming Our Goals
The end of a year is always a good moment to remind ourselves of our goals in business and to reconnect with our vision for a bright and strong business future.
How has your year in business been? I’m sure much has been accomplished! Inevitably there have also been setbacks along the way and a fair share of difficult choices and frustrations to deal with. Even for the strongest of businesses it can be easy to get lost in the day to day of what is happening and lose sight of the ‘why’ - why you are in business. Below we share some ideas to inspire and encourage you as you take time this festive season to reconnect with your goals and vision for yourself and your business in the year ahead.
Progress over Perfection
As you reflect on your year, acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small. Acknowledge that setbacks are inevitable and part of the learning process in business. No business owner executes perfectly on their vision and goals - don’t allow setbacks to take away from what you have worked hard to achieve. As you look forward to the year ahead, don’t be afraid to adjust your goals. Many things change in business and life, and adapting your goals to what is happening around you can be a positive and empowering thing.
Commitment and Belief
When it comes to achieving your goals, commitment and belief are required! If you no longer feel fully committed to your most important goals, or your belief that they’re really possible has waned, maybe it’s time for a rethink or change of direction. Having ambitious goals that you feel fully committed to and really believe in, will push you to stretch your limits and reach your full potential. You may discover capabilities you didn’t know you possessed and achieve things you once thought impossible!
Staying Connected
There is something about a business owner who is really connected to their vision and goals - an energy and motivation that permeates their business. We can feel it, their team can feel it, and I’m sure their customers can feel it too. Perhaps it’s linked to the immense satisfaction and sense of purpose that comes with feeling and believing that you are progressing towards your goals. With that in mind, we encourage you to put pen to paper, write down your goals, and keep them somewhere you will see them often throughout the year ahead!
